Catching Up and Trip Fund Progress.
Monday. 7.30.07 1:49 am
It feels weird that I haven't updated in two days. I know that isn't very long at all, but still, let me update you all on my weekend:

Saturday was cool because it felt really good to sleep in. Then I went around with Owen and we ended up at his mom's house were we proceeded to clean out her garage with his brother and father. His dad is giving us $10/hr to odd jobs for him so that we can raise money for our trip, and we made $30 just doing this, but for how messy it was, I feel like I should have gotten paid more. There are some things I'd rather not mention, but the most hilarious (and annoying) part was discovering that her dryer had not been connected to any sort of ventilation, so the lint just kinda went everywhere. And I really mean everywhere.

After that, I got to hang out with Cecilee which was fun. Yay! Cecilia! We wanted to hang out with Patrick but that didn't really happen, so we just went back to my house and hung out.

Today was alright. I went to the race track with Owen, his brother and their grandfather. I had never been before and didn't make any money, but it was still nice to be outside and see the pretty horses and just do something new for once. =] I also went to dinner with my mom and Joe. Whee!

So, things are looking up for my trip to Japan. Here's what I've got so far.

$200 in bank account as of right now
$30 from garage cleaning
$150 refund
$500 unprovoked donation from the goodness of Mommy's heart. =]

That's $880 out of the $2000 minimum that I'm trying to reach. I am making at least $100/week at work in addition to that, and I still need to do the bake/garage sale. Things are looking up.

Thanks to everyone that has been visiting my page so far! It takes a while to build up revenue on NuTang but I appreciate that everyone has been trying to help. =]

That's a good chunk out of it! :D

I see you've joined blogmad and a bunch of other things, I usually get about a dollar a week by regular posting/activity. I'm sure if I joined half of the other things and actively used them, I could pull in more.

You're doing good on the money so far. :)

I wish I could go to Japan, sounds like so much fun :D

I usually put mine under "personal" or 'other'.

Yar
I'm feeling you on the fundraising thing. If I make it on Team USA for jumprope, Worlds is in South Africa, plus two trips to Cincinnati (sp?) for trials. Bleh. Stoopid expensive airplanes. This is me supporting your funds!

The emphasis you put on the word "everywhere" makes me wonder. Haha it's amusing that I can actually match faces with the people you talk about. Not that I stalk ppl or anything -_-

I think I'm over the comment now hehe I just had to post that entry. It was very cathartic! =0)

Thanks for the comment. :] I just don't think things will work because of immaturity and unwillingness on my part.

Hope you get to Japan. It looks truly amazing, there.

ooh garage sale. i miss having garage sale. but unfortunately it doesn't really work in malaysia because we are just practically freeloader, that's including me!

Good luck making the money you need! It sounds like you're very well on your way to reaching it in no time.

No. If there is I haven't found one. It all seems pretty straightforward. Even down to what they do with your money. Which is basically the same thing a CD will do with it. Invest in low yield, low risk things like bonds, bank notes, government contracts... etc.

Like I said, the only way you could actually lose money is if Paypal suddenly went bankrupt. Which I don't really see happening.

aw! thx... i add you ^_^
» sweetpeach on 2007-07-31 07:22:10

If you have a paypal account I have almost 10 bucks in my account that's been sitting there forever. I have no plans on using it if you want it. :)

Loans can be a good or bad thing depending on how much thought you put into getting one. My husband would love to go back to school to finish his degree and to get his network admin degree, but we haven't paid off his first loan so we don't think it's wise to do that.
